Profile

I’m a broad generalist that easily navigates between strategic and tactical activites.
I design end-to-end solutions for the real world and my work is based on three pillars:
Customer Research

I use mixed qualitative and quantitative methods such as user interviews, surveys and others to uncover user needs on the (preferably continuous) Discovery phase, leading to evidence-based decisions, reduced risks and increased confidence in a solution.

UX Strategy

UX must provide value not only to users, but also to the organization. I help teams define a clear UX vision, goals and plans aligned to product / business objectives and key stakeholders. This is a non-linear and collaborative process fed by research findings.

Design Craft

Although focused on strategy, I did not stray away from the act of designing. From low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes to pixel-perfect UIs, I'm still passionate about thoughtful execution. Craft is crucial and "doers are the major thinkers."

2022 – present
Universal Robots
Since joining UR I've been working with different teams on a variety of complementary web-products ( 'off-robot' ) that extend the users' experience with collaborative robots. Some highlights:
Worked mostly in a Product-Trio setup and helped research, define and successfully implement a Dual-Track Agile work process within the product team.
Redesigned the user account creation flow according to best practices, increasing user conversions and reducing the drop-out rate.
Led knowledge sharing sessions within the UX team so we can learn from each other and accelerate the development of junior designers
Improved UX/UI on multiple projects and digital products such as platforms for robot support and training.

2021
Encodify
I had the opportunity to be the main responsible for design at Encodify and lead a small team with two other designers. Besides designing for a complex SaaS platform with over 60.000 uses worldwide, I also:
Collaborated with global B2B customers and a remote distributed team across Denmark, UK, Spain and Ukraine.
Worked to introduce UX Research and User Testing rounds in the release cycles.
Coordinated UX processes, timelines and roadmaps.
Introduced incremental UI improvements backed up by both moderated and unmoderated user tests.

2019 – 2021
Maturix
At Maturix I could flex my Industrial Design & Engineering muscles once again, bringing a physical product to the market from concept to launch. I designed the enclosure for Gaia 200 – Maturix' flasghip wireless transmitter. I drove product development from end-to-end, including research, conceptual designs, CAD modelling, renderings, 3D-printed prototypes, initial product engineering and DfM, as well as product packaging, manuals, guides and technical drawings.

Featured past projects

Sírio-Libanês 2018

Responding to a RFP from the Sírio-Libanês hospital, one of the most important in Latin America, me and an art director developed a proposal for a complete redesign of the institution's website that outperformed its competitors.

The outcome was an approved project with an investment of over €35,000 and an estimated duration of 20 months. The success of this concept also paved the way for a second collaboration, this time focused on the hospital's intranet, which was also approved and further implemented.

Omni Bank 2017

I created the full mobile experience of the first version of the app for the Omni Bank, a Brazilian digital bank launched by Omni Finantial Services in 2017 – a project that gave me some experience with design for fintech's.

Since its official launch years ago, the application has been updated a few times and it currenty has more than 100,000 downloads in total, both on Google Play and Apple Store.

My Bible Study Fellowship 2018

I was responsible for the experience and interface of the first version of MyBSF – a centralized platform for BSF members to conduct their Bible studies globally, wherever they are.

This project involved international cooperation across several countries such as USA, Brazil, India, Pakistan, China and Australia. I delivered a set of flows and screens designed to multiple devices and tested in 4 languages.

MedPack UX Brazil 2017

I am very proud to have been the UX expert consulted in a large study commissioned by the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa) to investigate and improve the legibility of medicine packaging in the country.

The project included a national cross-sectional study with 6,255 participants and resulted in an extensive 100-page report packed with guidelines, best-practices and mockups. I was also co-author of a scientific article published in peer-reviewed journals such as PLOS One and others.
